so here is an interesting thing that has happened to me in the last month. I go to Kaiser for my health plan. I have had the same doctor for over 10 yrs. Recently I have been getting phone calls from a pharmacist about my meds. I do not thing anything about it, it is a pharmacist so I answer her questions. She states that she is working with my doctor as part of a team effort. I think the more the merrier. But today I took a look at some blood tests because of a conversation a couple of days ago. This pharmacist ordered blood tests for me to have done in her own name and with her own authority. This did not come from my doctor. These are serious tests. They are about my glucose levels as I am diabetic. She also tried to talk me into taking a statin. I refused for my own reasons. Here is the rub. She does not have a degree in medicine. She has a doctorate degree in pharmacology. What the hell is she doing acting as my doctor?? I do not need someone else trying to tell me what to do. So my point in all this?? Check everything from your health care and make sure that you are getting the correct advice from the correct person. I will not be dealing with this person again. I am also now more than ever glad that we are leaving Kaiser at the end of the year. I have no desire to have someone other than a doctor give me medical advice or act as a doctor. I do not care what others think that is their prerogative . The end
