so, we have law enforcement officers on one hand who get commended and sympathized for when doing their jobs as theyre supposed to; shot and/or killed in the line of duty, injured by people theyre attempting to arrest, finding bad guys. then we have these officers in Kansas who seemingly did NOT do their job to the best of their ability. and others who pepper spray peaceful protestors, and yet more who dont really want justice, just to close cases (SOME previous LEO in my home town in OK and Im certain other LEO in other areas). read An Innocent Man by John Grisham, his first non-fiction book. the list goes on & on... cases where someone died, in a jail cell, due to the negligence of a LEO. having previously been married to a sworn officer of the law, Im not sure how I feel in general about the whole thing. I have seen how some cops treat other cops, their co-workers, in some cases. they ARE above the law in their jurisdictions (and sometimes in other jurisdictions). but I DO know that there are some good cops and then there are some bad cops. ooh, good cop/bad cop! why cant we root out and eliminate the bad ones? I know that being exposed on a daily basis to the absolute worst negative aspects of humanity takes its toll on anyone. Happy Tuesday!
