some children diagnosed with nonverbal autism and severely limited mental abilities are, in fact, functioning at much higher levels than their diagnoses would suggest. John would say they couldnt communicate with the others, probably because they werent trusted. Let a Syracuse University trainer do the work instead of a Harvard employee.
