soooo.... i hate when i type a longggg heartfelt post and then it doesnt send. this will be my 2nd attempt and although the moment has past.... if u read two about the same, i guess first one made it after all! ughhhhh. 1:41 a.m. wide awake, sweating and dreaming of a VERY special ornament that needed to be placed on the tree.... found it, placed it front and center! 2:something. a.m., back in bed but cant sleep. lots on my mind and tree still not complete. Time to wrap presents ! scissors....check....paper....check....pen...check.....lil colorful sheets of toilet paper looking put in the box cause your supposed to stuff....check! tape.....tape.....ummmm tape ? where did i put that tape? 3:30.... tape......?????? still cant remember where i put 6 freaking rolls of new tape ! 4:01.... frustration wins. get on fb.... sitting in recliner looking at tree and thinking of a question asked last night..... i remember Christmas tree decorating with my mama... it was a three day adventure down memory lane. every ornament had a special place in her heart. (even the ugly ones like the rat my Aunt Pat gave her... lol. always placed on the bck of the tree might i add !) year after year we would unwrap the special ornaments and she would retell the story of how they came to be. i guess thats one of the most special parts of the holidays for me.... the tree. i remember Lonnie Lesley Tracy Turner and myself each had a little dainty gold engraved ornament of our very own.... always on the front. I also remember how after our last cedar tree we never found mine again.... I guess thats what we get for trespassing Peggy Holcombe and trying to STEAL a tree with a broken axe ! Lol.... you know we almost got shot right ? (shes gonna kill me for telling that ) Christmas is about Jesus and my mama had me stealing trees yall ! All in fun though, there was one particular cedar she wanted and of course it wasnt for sale. it was also about 11 foot tall. going in our mountain home ... where we drew water from the river, had no inside bathroom, (u guessed it... old wooden outhouse) and i was scared to death of old man Silace ! You cant make this stuff up folks its true. anyways..... the two most important memories i have, would be last years Christmas with my new family and the abundance of love they showed me was to be honest extremely overwhelming. (yep i cried ) and had sore fingers... and decorating the tree with my mama those few years. Heres to old memories.....special ornaments.....and family. may we never forget and continue to make new. (if this dont post im gonna flip out ) 4:59 a.m. GOODNIGHT. YALL.
