(sorry for the delay, at least to those few who are following... Ive been a little under the weather and sitting upright has involved me stuffing a box of kleenex into each nostril these last few days, thus, Ive layed on my back or side on the couch watching Episodes of Star Wars instead) #24 In 1985, I was in full rebellion mode. I wasnt going to listen to what anyone had to say, especially anyone over the age of 25. Mainstream music was on its way out for me and I began to dig deeper into metal as a source of entertainment. Local rock station, KZEL, had a late night metal show on Saturday nights where they highlighted bands that didnt make the airwaves during regular commute times. Through that show, I discovered a host of bands like Loudness, Armored Saint, Dokken, and Celtic Frost. I began searching out EPs and albums from some of the bands that were highlighted on that show. One such band could almost be considered local... they were from Seattle. While their name was kind of stupid, their logo screamed metal. Their 4 song EP, although short, was amazing. The guitar work was more progressive than what I commonly listened to and the singer had an amazing vocal range. When their video hit MTV, it had elements common to many metal bands at the time: girls with big boobs, big hair (both genders), fire, guns, and a desolate setting. It also involved computers... which I was starting to play more and more with. Granted, I never was much of a computer geek in those days, opting for style over brains, but I did play with them probably more than your average rebellious teenager of the day... but I digress. Shortly after acquiring this EP, I went through a transformation which would allow me to make some necessary changes in my life; however, this band would eventually make its way back into my life 5 years later.
