sweetjourneyforge/about.html Susan Dunsmoor is an artist-blacksmith who finds that her metalwork is the culmination of a variety of artistic influences. She majored in fine art and graphic design in college and continued on working in advertising and publishing. The opportunity to try something new appeared in 1997 she was hired at New Castle Iron, a blacksmith shop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was introduced to the world of the artist-blacksmith. This shop builds decorative gates, railings and other functional metalwork. After seven years of working and learning with this shop, she moved to another shop in Miami where even more opportunities to create were available. She was able to design and build many projects here, and learn the fine points of fabrication. Susan designs and creates her own metalwork in aluminum, steel or copper, from entry gates to sculptures. To be able to form metal into beautiful shapes and scenery has been the most challenging and rewarding part of her passion for creating.
