ten years ago, when I was still a young undergraduate student struggling with life, I wrote a letter to myself, only to be opened 10 years later. I asked 4 important questions to the future me. The first question is whether I still love her after all these years. The second question is whether I managed to travel all over the world. The third is whether the jokes are still funny. The last question is whether I have discovered the meaning of life. Well.. here it goes. A PhD and 12kg later.. No, I dont love her anymore. As stupid as it sound, time actually heal. Although some scars remain. The second answer is yes. I did my fair share of travelling, from backpacking in Australia to the mountain of Everest and beyond, only to realise that my bed is still the most comfortable place of all.. and Everest was not overrated. The answer to my third question is also yes. My life is still a series of funny mistakes, and falling in love is still the funniest mistake of all. I am sorry but I still havent figure out the last question, the meaning of life. I know that I am supposed to be good etc but I am not. I still dont understand why anyone would create someone like me in the first place, knowing full well about all the defects that is me... but I sincerely and honestly feel grateful. If I can reply the letter with one advice to my younger me, it will be: switch to Apple now!
