thank you World Interiors News: Clint Roenisch, renowned gallerist in Toronto since 2003, has just reopened The Clint Roenisch Gallery in a new location, moving from a small two-storey storefront to 3,200 sq. ft of space with tall 16 ft ceilings and a front opening garage door, perfect for shows and events. The new gallery marks the beginning of a new arts hub in the city and has provided Roenisch with the means to expand, introducing and displaying international art with presence. Roenisch designed the space himself, beginning by building a white cube inside the former occupants oversized freezer and smoothing down the grey concrete floors, a minimal palette to let the art speak. A striking office-cum-kitchen can be found near the entrance of the gallery, covered in planks of cedar. Stone and wooden fixtures plus mounted water buffalo hides and stag themed accessories add to the log cabin feel of the room. His opening exhibition, titled First the Pleasure, Then the Thesis, includes minimalist work from the likes of David Shrigley, Gedi Sibony, Gabriel Orozco, Aleksander Hardashnakov, and Jonathan Monk, from a private collection that reflects Roenischs own character and career; Gallerist, Curator, Dealer. A successful show so far, and in a gallery that boasts impressive spaces and interiors, the possibilities will be limitless with exhibitions to come. worldarchitecturenews/interiors/index.php?fuseaction=project.projectview&ctid=7&prid=24653
