The Jihadists have solid basis from the islamic texts and teachings supporting their actions and they announce that proudly in front of the whole world. From the time i was born and i hear the same pretexts and arguments from Muslims : this is not islam they are not real muslims islam is perfect but muslims are not they are tiny minority of extremists they misunderstood islam etc etc. Those muslims fight to stay in their mental security zone, the idea that their whole belief system is corrupted cant be assumed by their unconscious mind. Scientifically speaking: The limbic system of the brain control the unconscious mind, and this unconscious mind is constituted by a whole heritage of cultural and religious beliefs acquired during lifetime known as the belief system . The belief system is perceived as a question of life or death by the limbic system of the brain once it is exposed by facts proving its corruption ; Consequently, the limbic system order the conscious mind to act according to this idea. Thats why you see most muslims, specially the less religious and the less devout and those who are not interested by the idea of Jihad, living in perpetual state of denial. This denial is controlled by their conscious mind which react according to the orders of their unconscious mind ...and thats why also they repeat over and over the same arguments to stay in their mental security zone , convincing themselves that their belief system is perfect and healthy. Lets take the famous muslim argument: the extremists misunderstood the real islam.
