the first shot illustrates one of the big challenges of this style of ceiling, its 2.5 inch thick tongue and groove, the reason wiring and insulating can only happen when the roof is replaced. In the second shot we are in the final stages of getting the metal roof on over the insulation and wiring/recessed lighting. Next week the solar goes on and for the next 50-60 years, it should be relatively maintenance free! The combination means many metric tons of carbon that wont be released into the atmosphere from our cars or HVAC and tens of thousands of gallons of clean water diverted from storm drains to our garden and maybe eventually our tap too!
