the only distinction between the Iran / Contra era and the Present Syrian War is that the USA was caught red handed financing terrorists (in Nicaragua early 1980s) with the intend to destabilize a Socialist Government there -which almost wiped illiteracy within a few years after coming to power. A the head of the CIA in the 1970s -George Bush Sr was Open about his financing , training & equipping of the terrorist UNITA in Angola. the Leader of UNITA -Jonas Savimbi was given Stinger Missiles BEFORE the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan would receive their supply of Stingers from Jimmy Carter & Brzezinski to bomb and terrorist Afghans way back in the 1970s. In the case of the Syrian conflict -we simply cannot even admit to ourselves that Obama and his Conservative Friends have funded, trained, equipped and Supplied ISIS and ISIL…from the Very Beginning -right up to Now. This is the deepening tragedy of Modern Politics -that most of what we know about WaterGate and Iran Contra -cannot even be Uttered in Public in relation to Syria without being attacked as a conspiracy theorist from Both the Left and Right. How much mental energy it must take to Deny what is Obvious.
