this is highly dangerous. i understand internet companies want to follow the law and avoid prosecution and charges but there has to be a line in the sand. the internet companies need to push back with us. right now they are enabling the gov abuses by submitting to their demands. if the gov can obtain passwords they can snoop even deeper without warrant but even scarier is the potential that impersonatying people on their own accounts to set them up for crimes. it isnt that they cant already do that to specific targeted individuals if they determine the need or desire to do so but rather this would allow it to become easier to do and more widespread.
