this is kind of weird and specific but I wish there was a reverb plugin (or VST instrument that has reverb with this functionality) where you can assign something like voices to the reverb itself, so that multiple triggers of the sound you have routed into it cancel out the prior reverb. This is difficult to articulate, but yeah...it may exist somewhere, but Ive never found one so when I want to accomplish this technique I usually just resample whatever sound + reverb into audio, and load that up in a sampler. Only issue there is that the character/timbre of the reverb changes when the sample is being played at different notes. Hrmm.
