this my veiw on the whole fb drama foreigners saying jamaicans beggy beggy and jamaicans saying we forget our people back home (ungrateful) ...my first question wen did we (jamaicans) become the nation of beggers? jamaicans have always been known for maintaining their dignity and pride no matter how difficult things were ,we always show gratitude for watever little we had and content wit anything anyone could do to assist us..we were never the ones to beg, con or straight strong arm others for wat they had..lately i have notice that there has been a shift in mentality of some jamaicans..jamaicans who ever travel abroad is well familar wit the tradition of bringing a barrel fill wit goodies i have notice people have a problem wit watever little u bring not considering the thought that u even remember to bring back something for them...most leaving unhappy and disgruntled because u dont have money to give them or even making comment saying if dats all u coulda bring u might as well keep them..if ur not carefull u will leave jamaica almost naked because of the stories of hardship and destitution that u continue to hear ..wen they finish u feel so guilty and left humble that u feel like u are the one responsible for the difficulties that they are going through..most jamaicans have life more easily than people abroad..they walk around wit even 3 cell phones....jamaicans have always struggled through proverty and strife and always endure their dignity...i would really like to see a shift in the thought of our people and have them realize that just because u are not complaining does not mean ur not experiencing hardships too..
