this week in Texas was a very busy week. so rushed up I havent had time to post until traveling my way back home:: I use my tractor to pull the r3 Motorsports trailer out to Texas for Robert Richardson.. George church set up two cars to come out here, the 23 of Robert Richardson and the 87 for Carlos Contreras. I was the crew chief for Carlos. the car was very tight for Carlos during our first practice session and a motor did not seem to perform. after deliberation on Friday night we came in this morning and changed engine. we also found larger metal fragments in the transmission so we changed it as well. in the meantime George church and Robert Richardson backed into the wall in the first practice and had to go to a backup car. taking the engine transmission as well as oil line tank and plumbing into the back of car. we got 87 car in the tech line with only 3 minutes left of qualifying. therefore having to use a provisional.. George got the 23 car out with just a few minutes left in order for Robert to make a few laps and somehow the oil pump belt came off and locked up the engine. so with just a very short amount of time left before the race started George in the crew installed another engine getting Robert out as cars rolled off!! 30 laps into the race Carlos noticed an oil pressure drop and we came in the garage to check it out. putting a mechanical oil pressure gauge right to the engine it seems to have plenty of pressure a guage malfunction in the car. a few laps down now we enter the race track under the caution and the car dropped valve destroying the engine. however Robert nursed his car long working on the set up and finish the race. Rick ware racing had an unbelievable weekend! Im on the way back to China Grove with Roberts trailer, I will be flying out to Phoenix next week to assist Rick ware racing again.. possibly drive one of the cars and definitely driving the truck back home with their driver
