this weekend I went back to my racing roots and competed in the GTi Challenge Racing Series in a MK1 Golf. I finally let my dad take the wheel and we drove together in a 1hr endurance race - what a blast! We overcame some issues with the brand new car (we only finished it on the Friday morning just before the first free practice) and had an absolutely fabulous time at the track with me playing his race engineer for the sprint race before starting the enduro for him. A little off track detour into the first corner put me stone last on Lap1, but by the time I pitted for our mandatory driver change we were 2nd on the road!! He did very well for his first time ever in a FWD car and his first time racing at Killarney International Raceway in over 20 years.
