to all my black kin: I love you. If you were to die at the hands of a police officer, at the hands of this country, I would remember you. I would write about you. I would tell everyone your story. I would burn a city for you if I had to. And as for today and the next day and the endless stretch of days and bodies ahead, none of this is your fault or ever has been. You did not fail. There was nothing more you could have done. So do whatever you need to process and survive and wait for healing to come. I support you. I recognize you. I validate your rage and everything else you are feeling or not feeling. Survive the best way you know how. And dont believe the hype; respectable niggas get shot, too. Live the way you wanna live before some self righteous cop takes your life and gets away with it. Be unrespectable. Be aggressively whole. Perhaps in that is a kind of freedom. I wish you peace.
