today is officially jump up tues carnival Tuesday in Trinidad and Tobago and trust me yesterday jouvert was a flippin blast and meh feet and the bettah worse sore arse bettah for it... as I eased into dis day and talked with family friends etcetera cooking pelau(cooked up rice and peas with coconut milk pig tail and and and)... ...Im reminded off the many sides faces facets that make life life...the seen life the unseen life the understood life the misunderstood life the the the... in our current culture we are continually being bombarded with images thoughts that suggest imply and at times blatantly say you are not enough you are worthy you are not loved important valued unless you have things... ...tings like the nice car de nice watch de nice plane de nice houses de nice friends de nice jobs de nice travels de nice de nice de nice... and while I luv meh some nice tings I will not forget de nice family de nice friends de nice neighbours de nice food de nice lime(hanging wid folks having a really really great time full of dancing laughter drinks food stories etcetera)... ...de nice sound of water running down de stream de nice sound sight of birds playin churpin...de nice support of silence surrounding ones being...de nice touch or another on all levels...de nice sharing of what you have with theres enriching their lives and they yours... Dis is why we came here go be to discover to live to love... So on dis day...as my beads of perspiration moisten my face I remember... ...I breathe I play I smile and may all of us remember what is truly important is not tings and the accumulation of it but the experiences lived shared with authentic people whose souls have exposed themselves to each other and with welcomed inhalation exhalation gratitude kindness peace warmth and all tings nice found a resting place to be...
