today we visited Hermits Rest at the west end of the canyon. had a small rain shower move through, that was really neat to see as it moved across the canyon. saw a very large bull elk with a rack about 5-6 feet across yesterday morning that was resting behind the camping spot across from us. after awhile he got up and went to the hydrant that is within 50 feet of our spot, then meandered back behind us, using his antlers to bring oaks branches down to munch. tomorrow we will be getting up and packing then off to Arches National Park, then stay in Grand Junction,Co.
