tomorrow is round 1 of the MANX-MUD DOWNHILL WINTER SERIES:- ok just a final reminder and update on tomorrows hugely anticipated round 1 of the MANX-MUD DOWNHILL WINTER SERIES. PARKING due to the fantastic amount of entrants to the race,all riders must park in the carpark off the main glen maye to round table road. when this becomes full it would be advisable to park safetly on the road itself. the main carpark by the plantation will only be used by the organisers,marshals & first aid. please do not park along the road joining the two carparks as you may block the road or make passing difficult which obviously will be a safety issue for many reasons. the road wont be closed for the event so the public are free to use this road as they wish,so your co-operation would be really appreciated! organisers will be in the riders carpark with a van so we can transport your bags & kit to the event carpark. riders must please ride there bikes to the event carpark itself. we will be there to carry your kit between 8.30-9.15 if you arrive after,please dont be tempted to drive down,as there will certainly be no room. riders kit can be left in this van during the event,the van wont be locked so we cant be responsible if anything gets stolen & please take your litter home with you after the event has finished. the weather looks good but there will also be a shelter there which riders can put their kit/sit under during the day. SIGNING ON is between 8.30-9.30 at 9.15 signing on will be moved from the event carpark,down to the start of the track itself. we hope to have everyone signed on by the 9.30 deadline so we can get on with the schedule,this is a winter race,keeping to the schedule is very important as it gets dark quick in the trees! RACE SCHEDULE as soon as there are enough marshals present & in position,all riders will get a race briefing. nobody will be permitted on track to ride until both of the above have been done. *disqualification is a possibility if ignored* 9.30-10.00 will be practicing for novices only. as the title sais,theyre novices,so we feel it only fair to give them a chance to acclimatise themselves to downhill racing & downhill tracks. the track is short so more experienced riders should have plenty of time (90mins) to find their line :o) 10.00 will be the start of practicing for everyone else. 11.30 we will stop for lunch. 12.00 will be afternoon practice,full runs only,no stopping & a minimum of 2 full runs must be done. we will be monitoring this requirement. 1.00pm will be the start of the race runs,each competitor will complete 2 timed race runs. 2.30 will be the podium presentations. as stated above,tomorrow morning prior to the event starting,all riders will receive a full briefing as will the marshals. ...remember your £4 for your number boards & the numbers have already been allocated to the riders. finally...the manx mud downhill crew cannot thankyou enough for your support for this first event. were quite staggered by the response & will be making every effort to put on an amazing race! the track is looking absolutely mint,the weather looks good so it should be a great days racing!!! see you bright & early tomoz guys & gals!!!
