#tristatewx February 4, 2014: Ice storm growing worse for some... 6:30 PM - Ice storm continues over parts of the area - other places have snow and sleet. Damaging ice is being reported across parts of southeast MO into west KY - southern Illinois - scattered power outages and tree limbs are breaking. Reports of power lines down continue to come in. Not a good situation tonight for many people. Hardest hit areas appear to be where ice was already on tree branches and power lines from Sundays storm. I am increasingly concerned about parts of west KY that continue to see more and more ice accumulation - although the precip is slowly ending from west to east - areas like Murray/KY Lake - Princeton - Marion, KY - Sebree - Madisonville - those areas are in trouble. If temps dont move up a degree or two then additional 0.10-0.30 of freezing rain is possible. This is going to cause significant damage. Several more hours of precipitation to go. You can see radars showing the back edge of the precipitation in Missouri. Pipe busting cold once again on Thursday night and Friday night. A chance for light snow from time to time. The big weekend storm has trended further southeast but deserves a close and watchful eye. I will post some storm tracking links below - post your reports and photos as you like
