ts time once again for the Winter Season, and things are changing once again here at BP. As it was previously announced, the 7-Eleven Super Truck Series is taking the winter off for the time being and all drivers are welcome to participate in this years round of winter season racing in the Camping World Truck Series. Before we go further, a big congratulations must go out to #89 Paul Wolf for wrapping up the Segment 3 championship with his amazing 11 Top 5 finishes in 12 starts for a 91.67% success ratio, a mark that matched #29 Luis Irizarrys and #16 Jason Justiss 11 Top 5 finishes in 12 races back in Segment 1 of the 2011 season. No wonder Wolf won the title by almost a full races worth of points! In addition, another round of congrats must also go out to #166 Blake McCandless for clinching the 2013 Segment 3 7-Eleven Super Truck Series title by a mere one point over #16 Jason Justis. Despite Justiss best efforts of leading the most laps and the race, McCandless did just enough to walk away with the title for his first 7-Eleven Segment title and second Wednesday truck championship here at BP. Will these two champions be doing battle all the way to the end of this winter season for another run at another title? Tonight kicks off that journey. Tonight is the El Toro 175 at Madrid Superspeedway. One of the most popular tracks in the Superspeedway Series, this carbon copy track of Talladega located overseas in Leganes, Spain has always put on great shows that have resulted in surprise winners and awesome three wide racing with close calls that leave the drivers and fans alike breathless. With such a fast track to kick off the 2013-2014 Winter Season, one could expect some not so familiar front runners making a run for the checkers in an attempt to position themselves for a Winter Season championship and establishing themselves as title contenders in the segments to come. This Winter Season, the trucks will hit two plate tracks, two short tracks, two cookie cutter intermediates, a road course, a flat track, and a 2-mile oval to continue the tradition of diversity and fun tracks that make racing during the winter what it is. Furthermore, for those who were involved with the NRT 500 last year, you know that we had to reschedule a few events during our winter season to make room for qualifying races during that week last January, and this year, since we have been invited again, we are taking the first step of preparation and scheduling a non-points event at Michigan International Speedway during the week of the NRT 400 festivities to give those drivers who are not racing in a qualifying race that day the opportunity to get more track time with the setup. But thats in January, and this is tonight! Welcome to the Winter Season Camping World Circus, and step right up! All are welcome to enjoy the ride! Previously at Madrid: On December 19, 2012, #88 Joel Wiggins used help from #38 Kevin England and #34 Tollie Wichtman to fend off challenges from newcomer #84 Michael Bergh and #92 Cosmin Loanesiu to score his first Camping World Truck Series victory in over two years. Did You Know: #38 Kevin Englands 10 wins in the 2013 full season is the most victories across any regular season in the history of the Camping World Truck Series? Not only that, but hes also the only driver to make every single race throughout the 36-race schedule, leading him to the Segment 1 and overall season championships.
