um. His erstwhile Senior Special Assistant on Media and friend, Mr. Ebere Uzoukwa, said they would not react now. He said, “We would speak at the appropriate time. Let us just watch as events unfold.” A member of the Willie Obiano Campaign Organisation, preferring anonymity, asked, “After exposing the (alleged) killers of Ojukwu, will that bring him back to life?” He said, “This is a very useless proposal to continue causing disunity among families and ethnic groups. If people can refrain themselves from useless history, this country can be better than this. The money used in filing case in courts, if used for investments in this nation, would have tackled joblessness.” In all these, the APC insists that Umeh must speak. The party (APC) is of the opinion that Umeh must speak or be ready to take the blame for causing the circumstances that led to Ojukwu’s heart attack, and eventual death. Alternatively, the party argued, he should choose never to speak again, should the tide turn against him tomorrow in APGA. According to a statement from the South-East chapter of the APC, “Umeh swallowed his words and reconciled with Governor Obi, shortly after the Appeal Court Enugu quashed the judgment of an Enugu High Court, which sacked him as the National Chairman of APGA.” The APC spokesman in the zone, added, “And we are very sure that if tomorrow Jude Okuli wins his case at the Supreme Court and Umeh is thrown out of the party, we might soon hear another tale of woes from him (Umeh). “But, as we approach the second anniversary of the passing away of Ojukwu on November 26, 2013, it is now incumbent on Chief Victor Umeh to avail the world, as he promised in the newspaper report, of the much Governor Obi knows about the circumstances leading to Ikemba’s heart attack and subsequent death.” Beneath the struggle is the fact that some politicians in Anambra State especially those within the APGA fold will stop at nothing to use the Ojukwu legend to sway votes in their favour. Only recently, one of Ojukwu’s sons was reported to have said were his father still alive, he would have declared support for Obiano, the APGA candidate. As the November 16, 2013 date for the Anambra governorship election draws near, the electorate should expect more disputes over issues which ordinarily should not have attracted public attention
