#unbundling the #Italian #State to #raise #taxes while officially leaving the tax burden unchanged a digital ID+National Health System card? At last, it will be here... for a free wait to see it "optional" for a while (yes, you have to pay for it), then "compulsory" to access some benefits, and eventually "compulsory"- as the annual tax on Italian passports the "unbundling" process worked well for various services (e.g. parking on unattended parking space on the border of the street- originally free, now few EUR per hour, or the endless list of temporary taxes "appended" to the price of gasoline, or local taxes on taxes added to your utilities bills, or the tax for having a phone number) so, do not believe to those statistics stating that X% is the tax rate in Italy: look at the larger picture- and you will see how unbundling and privatizations expanded the tax burden on consumption without expanding the tax base (or the official tax rate)
