update on jake :A race? Written a minute ago Day five: today I am thankful for modern medicine/medical procedures. I can remember day five at childrens hospital in Buffalo when the neurosurgeon described the surgery that needed to be performed immediately. I remember thinking, youre going to remove what and place it where for safe keeping??? Only later to find out what was foreign to me is second nature to that surgeon and many more like him. Jake had a very busy day, two and half hours if physically working butt off and the remainder of the day filled with his many other therapies! He will rest well tonight! However prior to resting he did some laps on his trike, joked and pretended to jog next to him, which prompted Jake to pedal like crazy and name me run to keep up! A true racer at heart, wanted a race, now were both exhausted! Jake received more goodies in the mail, thank you Pietras family, the first of our thanksgiving decor is up! Also Jake received a really fun gift basket...a Pittsburgh bag of Pittsburgh goodies! What a party of yummy goodness all in black and gold in true Pittsburgh style! Thank you Kelly and Cathy! What a great surprise to come back to after a tough afternoon of working hard! Hoping for a great night sleep tonight.....four people throughout the day today, told me in the nicest way possible, how badly I look, or how tired....then I looked in mirror! Yikes!
