via Michael P. Ramirez - The unindicted co-conspirator The President had a news conference yesterday, claiming once again that Al-Qaida was “on its heels.” On May 13, 2013, the President claimed there have been no “large scale” attacks on the United States since he became President of the United States. The 13 people (14, if you include Pvt. Francheska Velez’s pregnancy) who were murdered and the more than 30 wounded in Ft. Hood might disagree. The parents of six year old Martin Richard and 23 year old exchange student Lingzi Lu, the two other victims who were killed and the 264 wounded in the Boston Marathon bombings might disagree. On May 23, 2013, the President declared the “Global War on Terror was over.” That was probably news to the families of Ambassador Chris Stevens and the three other brave Americans that rushed to defend the Benghazi compound from an attack “over a video” on September 11, 2012 or the 19 embassies that closed last weekend. The fact is the threat from Al-Qaida remains. The pre-9/11 attitude that refuses to acknowledge the threat, the pre-9/11 attitude that refuses to secure our borders is a threat to all Americans. Changing the vocabulary from “war on terror” to “overseas contingency operations” or calling an obvious “act of terror,” “workplace violence” or prematurely declaring the “Global War on Terror” over does not diminish the threat or change the reality or lessen the number of victims of terror. It merely gives you a false sense of security and blinds you from preparing for future threats. The only thing that may be defeated is the expectation this administration will eventually tell the truth. The unindicted co-conspirator in the Ft.
