(via WKRN-TV) NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A disruptive and violent passenger caused a plane to divert to the Nashville International Airport Saturday night. Mary Lentz, 55, was on American Airlines Flight No. 2214 traveling from Dallas to Boston when police say she ran toward the cockpit and punched the flight attendant who attempted to stop her in the stomach. The flight attendant and a passenger then restrained Lentz until the plane landed in Nashville around 9 p.m. Saturday. Three Metro police officers escorted her off the plane. Lentz allegedly kicked two of them as she was being taken into custody. According to an affidavit, Lentz also kicked open the cage window once inside the patrol car and proceeded to kick another officer in the hand when he tried to shut the cage. Lentz now faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, one count of assault and three counts of assault on an officer. She is being held on $30,000 bond. wkrn/story/26183566/disruptive-passenger-diverts-plane-to-nashville
