wait... so.... college tuition has outpaced inflation by 2 orders of magnitude, the cost of a higher education is now too high to justify any typical ROI for most employment opportunities granted by it, and those employed to confer such learning are compensated less than any relative change in cost? Why are we sending kids to college any more? College is great, we need educated students, but we need institutions of education, not bloated athletic frat houses where learning is a secondary concern. It upset me greatly when at Clemson University, the paradigm of the university changed and those whose passion had been to educate us, were told that they were only worth the income they brought to the school. They were pushed out of positions and discarded, and this was a tragedy and still hurts me to this day. To those professors who invested in my personally, who taught me lessons I still carry every day in my professional career, who God blessed to have had cross my path, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
