wanted to share this here.....in answer to your comment, Cheryl Rink - the soy is there to make the watercolor pigment permanent - the protein in it adheres to the fabric and the pigment adheres to the protein - much like sweat staining clothes or those tough stains on baby clothes....the watercolors I use from the tube, add just a bit of water to them...did not get a lot of wicking...but you are right, I think the soymilk had swelled/stiffened the fibers, it was a bit like painting on canvas...
