was encouraged by Psalm 46:4:"There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells." A river is a consistent flow that provides life-giving moisture to fish, fowl, and people. In an arid climate, water was essential for the sustenance of the city. When Jerusalem was under siege, the Kidron River kept the city alive as it flowed below Mount Zion. The psalmist is saying that our God is just like that river, refreshing the soul and providing strength in times of trouble. Are you dry or under siege.? As the source of Living Water, He will quench your thirst and sustain you. I am drinking from the river of God’s goodness and grace today! You too?
