well well well what up face book family? i pray that all is well in face book land. i kinda had a good day today. i talked to my friend and spoke on a panel tonight. i love caring the message of hope to people who are looking for hope, not unrealistic promises. sometimes we bombard the new comer with a lot of things that they may not need to hear at this stage of their recovery. i dont think its done on purpose, we just want to share what has happen in our lives and want them to know they can accomplish their goals also. i think it should be done in increments, we should take in consideration that a lot of the newcomers are not ready to hear someone elses success story. being new and coming from a lot of incomprehensible behavior, the thought of them getting to where we are is frightening and seemingly impossible. we run a lot of people away with our messages sometime. you ever heard of someone who was pushing their religion down your throat and giving you no other choice but to close them out. well this is the same thing that we have to be careful not to do when we share with the newcomer. i say this cause i go to a lot of meetings and i hear speakers boasting and bragging about what God has blessed them with and bla bla bla. come on get real, lets tell it like it really is. sometimes we wont tell the real story of our success because of selfish reasons. so its real easy to say this is what God done for me. im not saying that God doesnt bestow blessings,. what i am saying is keep it real and give the newcomer the real deal about how this program. let them know that this program is about spiritual maintenance not the acquiring of the material things all the time. all them things will or will not come. the important thing is to let the newcomer know that we dont use no matter what. i really dont know how i even got on this particular subject tonight. its almost like something just told me to talk about nourishing the newcomer, and i just started writing. if it makes any sense or if it doesnt, i just do what my spirit asks me to do in the name of staying clean. love you all and you cant stop it.
