whats the best way to feed additional fat for a horse? He is on a mix of purina senior and 12% sweet feed (partly cost related). Please dont be rude because he is healthy and I am not an expert, but I think he needs to get some more weight on him and Im just looking for a bit of info specific to his needs. He is on approx an 80% alfalfa pasture and grazing 24/7 in addition to the grain. I just wormed him and doesnt live a stressful life but I think hes not maintaining. We also just opened up a new pasture for him and my other animals so he may have been light on the grass if he was picky so I think Im not going to make feed changes until I see if the pasture change is helping. Perhaps I just love fatties :) He is only lightly worked right now. Ultium isnt an option as we have a Tractor Supply that doesnt carry that. This is what my options are...and this might be stretching what they actually carry. Also, how does BOSS help if it isnt digested? I see all these discussions but, maybe horses are different, but they sure as day come out whole, just the way they went in!!! Thanks in advance!
