“while the transitional heaven is nonphysical, it is nonetheless - TopicsExpress

“while the transitional heaven is nonphysical, it is nonetheless real. When Messiah said “God is spirit” (John 4:24) he did not for a moment undermine the Father’s reality. Nor did Moses intend to underscore the Father’s physicality when he spoke of the Lord God “walking in the garden.” As God by nature is nonphysical, so the soul by nature is nonphysical. Thus, when Paul speaks of desiring to be “away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8) in the transitional heaven, he is invoking a relational rather than locational category. Souls are spiritual and therefore do not have extension in space. Thus, to ask the location of a soul is to confuse categories. On the other hand, to speak of the soul being at home with the Lord is both correct and comforting.” Excerpt From: Hanegraaff, Hank. “AfterLife.” Worthy Publishing. iBooks.
