Till this moment I am writing it has been quite difficult for me to identify the means by which President Jonathan could implement the so called outcome of the National Conference he has been talking about! 1. Jonathan may have an array of demands from his bloc and region ranging from their desire to redress the bias in NASS representation and revenue allocation inbalances to quest for regional government and state police among others. 2.However it would have been better if the advocates of these knew that these demands are not Jonathans even more importantly PDPs top priority for now! Surviving beyond 2015 is their top most priority because losing power to their opponents is only next to death or even the death itself! 3.The southern oil states we know may wish and dream for an absolute resource control with the help of Jonathan forgetting that the Bamangas etc that control the PDP and Jonathans fate are the major stakeholders in the Delta oil businesses. 4. The Northerners on the other hand may have the apprehension that the country is about to break up tend to forget that the Southern top politicians, business tycoons and militants have invested heavily in Abuja perhaps more than the Northerners to support any break up of the country! Show me any militia leader that has no interst in there! IT IS A BLUFF THEY ARE MAKING TO SCARE US STIFF! 5. Now for those who take Jonathan seriously about the conference here it is! We do not doubt the capacity of Jonathan in organising, mobilsing and filling the conference hall to brim with his regional militants and errand boys ready to sell their conscience especially the youth and quasi religious leaders. He also needs not to put a no-go area because it serves his interes better! His arrowheads could also manipulate the conference proceedings to his taste and so also its outcome! Yet it is there that the buck stops! 6. Both the conference organisers and supporters should know that what they are dealing with is a CONSTITUTIONAL CONFERENCE WHICH OUTCOME COULD ONLY BECOME EFFECTIVE AND RELEVANT WHEN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WISHES! That is what makes nonesense of all the process! 7. Remember you are dealing with an Assembly which cannot even constitutionali se its is own effort let alone Jonathans. Meaning they would not allow the President to succeed where they failed! (remember the Abuja legislators went round the country last year sought for our views to amend the constitution which is yet to materialise!) 8. But comically it is to the same people that Jonathan must take his CONFERENCE OUTCOME for crafting into the CONSTITUTION so as to give the South justice and equity! This the president knows cannot work better than all of us. The reader should know that Jonathans intent is not to ensure EQUITY AND JUSTICE for the South but equity and justice for the ruling PDP to remain in power after 2015 to save their necks. 9. This they can only achieve through their normal tactics of DIVIDE AND RULE! Surely the outcome of the conference would be cunningly manipulated to suit the South but at the same time make it impossible to be accepted by the North. It is a ploy of making the North to reject it: and surely the National Assembly too where the North holds sway. REJECTION is what Jonathan and PDP intend to have NOT RATIFICATION if the intention is divide and rule!10. It is this at last that the incumbent president Jonathan would hold as an ace and trump card to tell the South now you can see what the North has done? They have blocked my attempt to save you from their bondage! 11. NOW TELL ME, WITH THIS, HOW COULD ANY NORTHERN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OR APC MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE SOUTH AND MORE THAN ANYTHING WHY CANT POP AND JONATHAN RIG TTHE 2015 ELECTION AND GO AWAY WITH IT IN A DIVIDED NIGERIA AS THEY DID IN 2011? 12. It is my humble view that even if there would be any resource control in the country under the leadership of Jonathan/PDP it is a class control of resources not people control: also if we should have any state police it is in the Marxist sense- an instrument in the hand of the ruling class: similarly we could not have JUSTICE and EQUITY of OUR dream but of THEIR dream! UNITED WE STAND MY FRIENDS .
