you know how you can feel someone staring at you from the distance and when you look, they look away....well today, there was a woman that I could totally feel that she was staring....so when I slowly turned, she started walking my way....so I smiled....she came up to me and the first thing she said was....is Carol Silva your mom? and I of course said...yes, she is.... lady: you know.....if it wasnʻt for your mom...my kids and I wouldnʻt have had food...we would have starved.... me: you know, I have been hearing a few stories from several people of how my mom went out of her way to help others, I think its all a blessing really... lady: no, Iʻm serious...my kids and I just moved to Kona from Hilo and I went into your momʻs office to get help....and she switched around appointments and squeezed me in immediately....and I was so appreciative....and I was soooo shame to be in the office to begin with but you know your mom said...why you shame? shame is when you steal!!! me: sounds like my mom....sounds exactly like my mom.... lady: I donʻt have much now, but I am in a far greater place than I was because of your mom.... me: ( of course tearing up ) I am so glad my mom was able to touch your life and be of help....she always did help people...she use to get into verbal scraps with some the workers that she would say wasnʻt moving fast enough!! lady: I went in a couple of months later and I was told she retired...and then I heard a few months ago that she had past away from cancer....and I never got to ever tell her how much I am so grateful of her... me: she knows....Iʻm sure she knows....
