Heres a request from kinesiologist Brian Romero who needs to test the metabolic rate of drummers playing metal songs. You can advance science and get your practice in, too. Heres his note: My name is Bryan Romero, and I am a Kinesiology (body movement) graduate student at California State University, Fullerton in Orange County and a drummer. Im working on my masters thesis which combines drumming and movement. Specifically im looking at how many calories drummers burn while drumming metal songs using all four limbs using a mask connected to a metabolic cart that reads how much oxygen is used and how much carbon dioxide is exhaled. Heres a video of me playing some a testing session to get an idea of what i am doing. Sorry about the low quality video.
