youtu.be/glrm4FuyOsI. When I was performing regularly at Soho Theatre, I really began to notice the changes in this whole area. Denmark street is now very much overshadowed by the cross rail building site. The whole experience of navigating Tottenham Court rd as a pedestrian is now very different. Over the years weve lost First Out, Silver Moon, Neals Yard Salad Bar, now the 12 Bar. The commentators are right - its not just about Soho but about the character of London as a city. My belief is there is a definite corporate plan to turn it in into a playground for the super rich, meanwhile squeezing out people, culture, community, affordable housing etc. Interestingly, I did a guided meditation/visualisation recently where, I tried to visit London in the future, about 50 years hence. I saw very clearly, a place covered in green....fields, forests and even a dry Thames riverbed covered in vibrant birdlife and foliage. (I wonder how these two visions of the future co-exist?!)
