Well, sort of. The students monitored the rate of spread from E.coli and other common bacteria after purposely dropping food ranging from toast to pasta to candy. According to their research, food picked up in just a few seconds after being dropped is less likely to contain bacteria than if the food was picked up after a period of time. But the type of flooring that the food was dropped on also has an effect.
