Да, вот еще, кто не получает рассылку: Press trip to Mardin, South Eastern Turkey : 15 to 18 April 2015 Mardin Historic Mardin in South Eastern Turkey is currently benefitting from an EU-supported programme to further develop tourism in the region. British Historian Arnold Toynbee, called Mardin “the most beautiful town in the world”. While it is a popular destination domestically, Mardin – a city visited for centuries by travellers along the Silk Road – is little known outside of Turkey. To change that, and draw attention to Mardins newly-developed sustainable tourism policy, the city is organising a two-day press trip to Mardin to coincide with a week long Mardin Turizm Buluşması (Tourism Gathering. The press trip Wednesday 15 April 2015 This fully hosted press trip will see journalists flying into the new Mardin International Airport on Wednesday 15 April 2015. Accommodation will be in the Mardin Hilton. Thursday 16 April 2015 On Thursday 16 April, 2015, the journalists will join Mardin’s Governor and other high-ranking officials will officially open the Buluşması (Gathering) at the Mardin Hilton. The Gathering will include a presentation on Mardins place on the United Nations World Tourism Organisations Silk Road Promotion, a report on the achievements of the tourism project the launch and a briefing on one of Mardins special interest tourism products. This will be followed by lunch at the Hilton and afternoon sightseeing tours. A spectacular opening dinner at the Hilton, featuring local dancers, singers, and a fashion show, will conclude the first day. Friday 17 April 2015 On Friday 17 April 2015, the journalists will be transferred to the centre of Mardins spectacular Old City, high up on a rocky crag, facing south over Mesopotamia. It will also be the chance to enjoy a parade of schools, circus and street performers, musicians and dancers, celebrating tourism and its role in Mardins future. After lunch in the Old Town, personal interviews or business contacts that have been asked for in advance, will be conducted. A list of suggested opportunities will come with the confirmation letter, allowing time to plan ahead. There will also be the opportunity to visit : • the peaceful gardens of the Sultan Medresi Theological School, built in 1385 , offering a most magnificent view down over the Mesopotamian plain. • one the oldest monasteries in the world, where monks still speak Aramaic • a breeder of Mardins iconic somersaulting pigeons, the director of the Mardin museum or a young local fashion designer, or talk to the director of a boutique hotel or the organizer of special interest programmes. A farewell dinner at one of Mardins picturesque restaurants will end the day. Saturday 18 April 2015 Departures will take place on Saturday 18 April 2015.
