Meanwhile, most combat fronts were governed by cautious calm interrupted by sniper operations on both sides. Intermittent mortar shelling targeted several neighbourhoods in the city; while jet fighters flew over the city and over southern Damascus. ***Humanitarian situation*** Over the past nine months the city of Darya has been surrounded by tens of regime checkpoints forming a tight siege and resulting in dire shortage in all the necessities of life amid a complete blackout of electricity and communications. Meanwhile, the displaced people of Daraya are suffering horrific living conditions where food supplies and safe homes are scarce and prices are soaring.
