اَعْظَمَ اللهُ اُجُورَنا واُجُورَكُم 4th Rabi al-Awwal 1436 AH - Death anniversary of Bibi Fatima Masooma-e-Qum (s.a): On this occasion of mourning, I wish to extend my hearfelt condolences to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w), Imam-al-Mahdi (atf), the Holy Ahlul Bayt (a.s) and to all Momineen: After the shahadat of our Holy 7th Imam Musa Kazim (a.s) the Holy 8th Imam Ali Ridha (a.s) took care of his family and his sisters. Bibi Fatema loved her brother immensly (similar love as that of Bibi Zainab (s.a.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.). In 200AH Mamoon Rashid called Imam Ridha (a.s) to Khorasan from Medina. No family member was allowed to accompany him. Bibi Masuma missed her brother very much and left Medina for Iran to meet his brother. When she reached Saveh, which is about 62 Km from Qom, she learnt the news of shahadat of her brother. On learning this, she became very ill and asked to be taken to Qom. Musa ibn Khazray took this dignified lady to their home. Bibi Masooma passed seven days in Qom suffering from illness until finally she departed from the transient abode! الا لعنة الله علي القوم الظالمين Thought of the day... ﷽ Imam Sadiq (a.s) narrates... “one who recites this supplication for 40 mornings, he will be accounted amongst the helpers of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f). And if he happens to die before the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f), Allah (swt) will raise him up from his grave so that he may assist the Holy Imam (a.t.f). For every word that he recites in this supplication, Allah (swt) will grant him 1000 good deeds and will erase from his scroll of deeds 1000 sins”. As the title suggests, this supplication is of allegiance (ahad) to the Holy Imam (a.t.f). Its recitation every morning ensures the renewal of this covenant. The reciter finds himself under the leadership of the Holy Imam (a.t.f). The reciter beseeches All to include him among the helpers and aides of Imam (a.t.f) and to grant him the opportunity to attain martyrdom in his presence. Also, he requests Allah (swt) that should he die before the reappearance of Imam (a.t.f). Allah (swt) should raise him up from his grave so that he may assist Him (a.t.f), in his mission. There is a fervent appeal to Allah (swt) to grant him the honour of seeing Imam (a.t.f). In this there is also an acknowledgement that the difficulties of this nation can be solved only by the reappearance of Imam (a.t.f) and that believers see it as being close while others deem it to be distant.
