To the world leaders who gathers today at the General Assembly of the United Nations: If you assemble today to combat terrorism in all its forms, I would like to draw your attention that, an hour ago, you were listening to a killer who ordered the merciless murdering of thousands of civilians in Egypt 15 months ago. If you are against terrorism, why you are not stopping injustice performed routinely by the same man you were listening to? He detained over 40,000 civilians in less than a year. He closed newspapers, seized TV stations, and forced many thinkers and writers into exile. If you fight terrorism in the name of religion, how about terrorism in the name of coups and in the name on unjust regimes. All forms of terrorism are ugly and wrong. I am calling upon the leaders of the western world specifically: Enough of the double standards that have made it impossible for people of the free world to respect you. As an Egyptian, here is how we see it: whoever supports an aggressor seizing the power using military means .. whether a leader or an organization is simply an entity which lacks basic human values, and whoever obstructs the march of people towards freedom and democracy is doomed no matter who he or she is. To the world leaders: Do not support the coup in Egypt. Do not sign treaties with leaders who are killing their own people and robbing their nations. We remind you that all Egyptian anti-coup organizations and movements have repeatedly declared that Egypt - after liberation- will not endorse or ratify any treaty signed with the coup leaders or with the coup regime. Protect the interests of your nations and do not deal with killers. Any support for this coup leadership is a support for a killer. It clearly means violating the rights of the Egyptian people and their interests. Whoever decides to support this coup leader in imposing his aggression on Egyptians will need to know that he or she is making a decision to stand against the freedom of the Egyptian people. History will never forgive this position, which goes against all human rights principles and against all the values of liberty and freedom. Keep in mind that the world hears your calls – as you- frequently enchanting freedom, and even calling other nations to go for wars to fight for it! The freedom of Egyptians is as important and as valuable as the freedom of any other free nation in this world. We are not asking for your support. We need no help in extracting and getting rid of this coup in Egypt, we only ask you to adhere - in front of your own people - to the same principles and values that you call the world to adhere to: Freedom and Democracy. We call upon you to stop the double standards in dealing with Egyptian people. These double standards are now clear and obvious whenver your leaders speak about Egypt. We .. Egyptian are capable of ending the injustice upon our nation, but we are asking those who are supporting the coup-leader killer to side with justice not injustice, and with freedom not oppression. I would like to conclude my remarks today with a message to the United Nations which allowed a killer to appear on its platform which the world assumes that it is a platform for rights and freedom: Unfortunately, your history in supporting freedom in our Arab Wrold is shameful and disgraceful. You have helped every ruler who was an aggressor, and supported every killer and assisted every dictator, There are many of these crimes against humanity which you supported over years in this part of the world. It is time to stop. Giving a killer an opportunity to speak from your platforms is shameful. Allowing this killer to meet with the General secretariat of the United Nation is a crime. A day will come soon when we will ask the United Nations to apologize to the Egyptian people for committing such wrongdoings. On that day, we may consider the apology not enough, and we may call upon the many free nations of this world to initiate another world organization which will fairly represent the interests of the people not the interests of those who are abusing people for their own imperial ideas.
