অনেক ঢাকাবাসী মনে করেন যে ফার্মগেটের পাশে অবস্থিত ইন্দিরা রোডটি ভারতের প্রয়াত প্রধানমন্ত্রী ইন্দিরা গান্ধীর নামানুসারে নামকরণ করা হয়েছে। এ বিষয়ে এতদিন কোন সুনির্দিষ্ট তথ্য পাওয়া না গেলেও সম্প্রতি যোবায়দা মীর্জার আত্মজীবনীতে এ রাস্তার নামকরণের ইতিহাস পাওয়া গেছে। তার দেয়া তথ্য মতে দ্বিজদাস বাবু ছিলেন মনিপুর ফার্মের কর্তা এবং তার বড় মেয়ে ইন্দিরার সমাধি ছিল তার বাড়ির ভিতরেই। এই মেয়ের নামেই ইন্দিরা রোড নামে হয়েছে রাস্তাটার। ****************************************************************************** Many residents of Dhaka city think that Indira road, situated beside Firmgate was named after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. For a long time we did not have any information regarding the naming of this road. But in the recent times from the autobiography of Jobaida Mirza we have got the history of this road. According to her information Dijodash babu was an officer of Monipur firm and the grave of his elder daughter was inside the area of his house and this road was named Indira road according to her name.
