அஸ்ஸலாமு அலைக்கும், ரமலான் முபாரக்.. அண்மையில் (ஜூலை இறுதியில்) சென்னையில் உள்ள மெட்ராஸ் யுனிவர்சிடியில் அமெரிக்கவைச் சேர்ந்த ஆமினா வுதூத் என்ற பெண்மணி பொது அரங்கக் கூட்டத்தில் பேச இருந்தார். கடைசி நேரத்தில் சென்னை போலிஸ்ஸின் கண்டிப்பால் இந்த நிகழ்வு கேன்சல் செய்யப் பட்டுள்ளது. இதை தொடர்ந்து ஆகஸ்ட் 1 ஹிந்து நாளிதழில் நடுப் பக்கத்தில் ஒரு செய்தி வெளியாகி உள்ளது. போலிஸையும், சென்னை பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் துணை வேந்தரையும் தாக்கி அந்த செய்தி வெளியாகி யுள்ளது. இந்த பெண்மணி தான் அமெரிக்கவில் ஜும்மா தொழுகையை ஆண்கள், பெண்கள் கலந்து நின்று தொழும் முறையையும், பெண் இமாம் பின்னால் ஆண்கள் தொழும் ஒரு புது முறையை 2007இல் நடத்தினார். இவர் தற்போது கேரளாவில் காலிகட்டில் வசித்து வருகிறார் என்றும் செய்தி உள்ளது. சகோதரர்கள் இந்த நாளிதழ்களுக்கு கீழ்கண்ட ஆங்கில பதிவை அல்லது தங்கள் கருத்தை கீழே உள்ள ஈமெயில்களுக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்க வேண்டும். y Opinion on the recent cancellation of the Speech by Dr.Amina Wadud in Madras University. It is stupid to say that we have to fight for Gender Equality. We have positive protons and negative electrons in an atom. No logical scientist will equate a Proton and an Electron as "Equal". Both are needed for a stable atom. Both have their own unique properties. Likewise man and woman are two different entities with unique natural features which cant be equated. If some one says that man and woman are equal, it is their ignorance and folly. This lady, Amina Wadud is one such human who propagates wrong policies against the humanity. If her policies are followed it will destroy the whole humanity with diseases like AIDs, Cancer etc. She cant propagate some wrong ideas which are against the core values of Islam as Islamic Preacher. She can very well do that in any other numerous forums. By writing this, I dont deny the atrocities done by few men against women using the religion. Like it happens in any religion, such atrocities against women are done by Muslim men also. We cant do two mistakes and say both are now nullified. That is not a solution but it will eventually lead to bigger social problems. What we can do is to have a open debate with DrAmina Wadud in a open forum. It can be done between her and the people who opposed her program in Madras University. Say, Dr.Zakir Naik, the islamic scholar of Mumbai can lead this debate. People who opposed her program in Chennai, dont want wrong ideas to be propagated in the name of Islam. We cant teach about plants in a Zoology Class as Zoology subject. It is as simple as this and this cant be called as "Freedom of Expression".
