ലൂക്കോസ് 1:57-80 57. എലീശബെത്തിന്നു പ്രസവിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; 57. Now Elisabeths time was fulfilled that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. 58. കർത്താവു അവൾക്കു വലിയ കരുണ കാണിച്ചു എന്നു അയൽക്കാരും ചാർച്ചക്കാരും കേട്ടിട്ടു അവളോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിച്ചു. 58. And her neighbors and her kinsfolk heard that the Lord had magnified his mercy towards her; and they rejoiced with her. 59. എട്ടാം നാളിൽ അവർ പൈതലിനെ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്‍വാൻ വന്നു; അപ്പന്റെ പേർപോലെ അവന്നു സെഖര്യാവു എന്നു പേർ വിളിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു. 59. And it came to pass on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him Zacharias, after the name of the father. 60. അവന്റെ അമ്മയോ: അല്ല, അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേരിടേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. 60. And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John. 61. അവർ അവളോടു: നിന്റെ ചാർച്ചയിൽ ഈ പേരുള്ളവർ ആരും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. 61. And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. 62. പിന്നെ അവന്നു എന്തു പേർ വിളിപ്പാൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപ്പനോടു ആഗ്യംകാട്ടി ചോദിച്ചു. 62. And they made signs to his father, what he would have him called. 63. അവൻ ഒരു എഴുത്തു പലക ചോദിച്ചു: അവന്റെ പേർ യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു എഴുതി; എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു. 63. And he asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all. 64. ഉടനെ അവന്റെ വായും നാവും തുറന്നു, അവൻ സംസാരിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചു. 64. And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue [loosed], and he spake, blessing God. 65. ചുറ്റും പാർക്കുന്നവർക്കു എല്ലാം ഭയം ഉണ്ടായി;, യെഹൂദ്യമലനാട്ടിൽ എങ്ങും ഈ വാർത്ത ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു. 65. And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea. 66. കേട്ടവർ എല്ലാവരും അതു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചു: ഈ പൈതൽ എന്തു ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; കർത്താവിന്റെ കൈ അവനോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 66. And all that heard them laid them up in their heart, saying, What then shall this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him. 67. അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ സെഖര്യാവു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവനായി പ്രവചിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു: 67. And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying, 68. “യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവു അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ. അവൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു ഉദ്ധാരണം ചെയ്കയും 68. Blessed [be] the Lord, the God of Israel; For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people, 69. ആദിമുതൽ തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപ്രവാചകന്മാർ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ 69. And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of his servant David 70. നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ വശത്തു നിന്നും നമ്മെ പകെക്കുന്ന ഏവരുടെയും കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും നമ്മെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ 70. (As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from of old), 71. തന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിൽ നമുക്കു രക്ഷയുടെ കൊമ്പു ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു, 71. Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72. നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കരുണ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും 72. To show mercy towards, our fathers, And to remember his holy covenant; 73. നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു 73. The oath which he spake unto Abraham our father, 74. നാം ആയുഷ്ക്കാലം ഒക്കെയും ഭയം കൂടാതെ തിരുമുമ്പിൽ വിശുദ്ധിയിലും നീതിയിലും തന്നെ ആരാധിപ്പാൻ നമുക്കു കൃപ നല്കുമെന്നു 74. To grant unto us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies Should serve him without fear, 75. അവൻ നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു സത്യവും തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധ നിയമവും ഓർത്തതുകൊണ്ടും ആകുന്നു. 75. In holiness and righteousness before him all our days. 76. നീയോ പൈതലേ, അത്യുന്നതന്റെ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും. കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവാനും 76. Yea and thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High: For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to make ready his ways; 77. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആർദ്രകരുണയാൽ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു പാപമോചനത്തിൽ രക്ഷാപരിജ്ഞാനം കൊടുപ്പാനുമായി നീ അവന്നു മുമ്പായി നടക്കും. 77. To give knowledge of salvation unto his people In the remission of their sins, 78. ഇരുളിലും മരണനിഴലിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു പ്രകാശിച്ചു, നമ്മുടെ കാലുകളെ സമാധാനമാർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നടത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു 78. Because of the tender mercy of our God, Whereby the dayspring from on high shall visit us, 79. ആ ആർദ്രകരുണയാൽ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഉദയം നമ്മെ സന്ദർശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.” 79. To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death; To guide our feet into the way of peace. 80. പൈതൽ വളർന്നു ആത്മാവിൽ ബലപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു തന്നെത്താൻ കാണിക്കും നാൾവരെ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. 80. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Israel.
