[스리랑카 “통계DB 및 서비스시스템” 개통식] 오늘(12.11, 목) 오전, 스리랑카의 첫 통계시스템의 공식 개통식이 진행되었습니다. 우리 통계청(KOSTAT)과 스리랑카 통계청이 공동으로 작업한 다년도 ODA사업으로, 이 시스템은 첫 결과물이라고 할 수 있습니다. 장원삼 대사는 동 행사에 참석해 국가개발과정의 기반과 지침이 되는 통계의 중요성에 대해 강조하고, 과거의 한국도 이와 같은 통계시스템의 구축을 기반으로 성장하였음을 언급하였습니다. 동 행사에는 구나와르데나 스리랑카 통계청장과 우리 통계청의 국제협력담당관 손영태 과장이 참석하였습니다. LankaSIS is the first product of a three-year-long ODA project granted by the Korean government, and was co-launched by the Statistics Korea (KOSTAT) and Department of Census and Statistics of Sri Lanka. H. E. Ambassador Chang Won-sam attended this meaningful event and mentioned the importance of statistics in the national development process as it provides a foundation and guidelines for development.
