전혜리 개인전 보도자료 Press release 장소: 두루 아트스페이스 Duru Artspace (duruartspace) 기간: 8월23일 - 9월 일 23rd August - th September 2014 전시 오프닝: 8월22일 Opening Reception: 22nd August 6pm 미국 미시건에서 거주하며 작품 활동을 하고 있는 전혜리 작가의 개인전이 2014년 8월23일 부터 두루 아트스페이스에서 바람꽃 이라는 주제로 열린다. 아티스트 메니지먼트 그룹 드아카데미의 전속 작가로 활동을 시작한 전작가는 이번 서울 전시를 시작으로 중국에서 있을 한국 현대 미술 작가 그룹전을 비롯하여 미국, 유럽의 개인전을 준비 중에 있다. Artist Hyeri Chun who lives and works in Michigan is hosting a solo art exhibition at Duru Art Space from August 23rd 2014 with a theme of “Wind Flower”. As a new member of De Academy, an artist management group, she is also working on her projects for the upcoming art events like the modern visual artist group exhibition in China as well as her individual art exhibits in the U.S. and Europe. 캔바스 바탕에 거칠고 두텁게 올려진 마띠에르. 그 위에 얹혀진 꽃들은 전혀 여성스럽지 않고 힘이 넘치고 묵직하기 까지 하다. 주제는 꽃이지만 그 꽃은 큰 바람에 의해 흔들리고 일그러져 형체를 알아 볼 수가 없다. 그것은 꽃이 아닐 수도 있다... The flowers on the canvas with rough heavy texture appear extremely dynamic, even massive rather than feminine. They are blowing in a gust of wind and quite distorted, which make them difficult to be recognized as flowers. Surprisingly, they might not actually be flowers.. 커다란 원색의 꽃들이 바람에 찢기고 흩날리는 형체를 보여주는 전혜리의 작품은 오히려 지극히 절제된 추상 작품에 가깝다. 삶과 죽음, 믿음과 절망, 꿈과 희망과 같이 항상 공존할 수 밖에 없는 양면성의 필연적 존재를 꽃을 통해 보여주고자 하는 그녀의 치열하지만 아름다운 현실적 이야기들이 흥미로운 전시이다. Hyeri Chun’s artworks featuring the primary-colored flowers blown and torn by wind are closer to abstract paintings characterized by strict self-control. Her exhibition will be a very intriguing one as she is going to tell a story of a bi-faceted life through her artworks exhibiting conflicting, yet co-existing concepts such as life and death, and faith and despair. Her own life in Michigan, indeed, has such multiple aspects of life, sometimes fierce, other times artistically pragmatic.. 전혜리 작가의 개인전이 열리는 화랑인 두루 아트스페이스는 해외 아트페어를 통해서 한국 작가를 소개하고 프로모션하는 갤러리로 더욱 유명하다. 올 들어 13년 째 신진 작가 발굴 및 기획전시를 꾸준히 지속해 가고 있는 는 [부암동에서 연희동]으로 보금자리를 옮기며 첫번 째 전시를 전혜리 작가의 작품으로 선보이게 되어 더욱 의미가 새롭다. Duru Art Space where the solo art exhibition of Hyeri Chun will be held is widely well known as the gallery that introduces and promotes Korean artists through prestigious international art fairs. With the gallery’s 13 years history of discovering new art talent and planning special exhibitions, it is an even more meaningful moment for Duru Art Space to hold Hyeri’s Chun’s individual exhibition as the grand opening art exhibit in Yonhee-dong.
