'Aurora' 'At dawn let me hear of your kindness for in you I trust, Show me the path I should walk, For to you I entrust my life (Vs. 143:8) Early morning in most parishes, early birds hit the road in procession, praying the rosary. Today is the First Saturday of the month. They are heeding the call of the Virgin Mary at Fatima, trying to maintain fulfilling the five First Saturdays consecration/entrustment to Her Immaculate Heart. This exercise is reparative, as in the First Friday, to atone for sins. We don`t pretend to understand how dawn processions, prayer and sacrifice fructifies to peace and conversion. Scripture attests to the "folly" of a God who overturns the obvious and the common. Simplicity and naiveté for Him is not only beauty but power. The medium at Fatima were three simple shepherd children, and one was so struck he was intent in staying in to church, praying non-stop (after the vision of hell). Our bishops called for a nationwide consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary last June 8, 2013, its Feast day. As our country risked its national security in territorial dispute, OFW’s in Taiwan were subjected to harassment, the alternate of a bitterly contented election and its usual aftershocks, and a host of other social problems, the recourse to prayer and entrustment to the Immaculate Heart upon whose triumph over evil .The Divine plan was envisioned, was nothing else than the prodding of the Spirit. It is not for us devotees of Mary a last recourse, an afterthought, or after-taste, in your will, but anticipated sweet taste of hope, "the dream of a man awake." “……we make so bold as to lift our eyes trustingly to you, O Mother of Jesus and our merciful and powerful Mother, and we invoke again today and await from you the salvation of all your children. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary” (Act of consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.)
