Which universities will be good for graduate studies? Ans : CEPH accredited schools/programs. Ques 2. Are degrees from only CEPH Accredited institutions bear good prospect? Ans : Yes, they bear good prospect. But its not absolutely essential if you think of job prospects. It is important when you want to join as a faculty. Graduation from reputed universities do matter then. Ques 3.What are the job opportunities after MPH/Dr.PH in USA ? Ans : Faculty, NGO’s, Hospitals, Research facilities. Ques 4.What are the scholarship/funding opportunities? Ans : Usually very less for MPH as it’s a professional degree (but not impossible). You can find funding in MS programs. Funding is good in PhD programs. Ques 5.Many universities ask about experience in public health. How we (medical students/doctors) can gather this type of experience? Ans : Best option is ICDDRB. Otherwise NGO’s working on public health measures. Ques 6.Do publications have importance on admission process? Which journal (national/international) should we select for journal publication. Ans : As a undergraduate, even only 1 publication (not necessarily too many) in peer reviewed journal (international) can be very valuable. But if you have publication on journal that is not international/peer reviewed still you can forward your publication to universities. Something is better than nothing. Biological Science Ques 1.What are the subjects for graduate studies in biological science(applicable for medical personnels)? Ans : Most subjects under biological sciences. Ques 2.Can we get into programs like Biomedical Science, Regenerative medicine? Ans : They sometimes ask for maths/calculus course in under graduation. Can we get into those programs? If they put any additional criteria like this you can not enter into those programs. But when you can change your major after admitting in a graduate program then retouring into subjects of your choice. Ques 3.What test scores (CGPA, GRE,TOEFL,IELTS) score do we need to get funding/scholarship? Ans : Depends on university. Now-a-days graduate co-ordinator/selection committee has more influence on student selection. In most cases when you will secure admission by getting the required test marks(given as admission criteria) you can approach to professors for fund/assistantship. Ques 4.What is the job prospects after graduate studies in biological science in USA? Ans : Faculty jobs, Teaching, Biotech companies, Research Facilities.
