-- New Study Validates White Shark Low Abundances, but reveals most studies overestimate populations of Pacific White Sharks or Have Insufficiently Surveyed the Current Population of the largest known predatory sharks (and their pups). Many experts associated with fisheries indicate white shark populations are swelling and use positive phrases like rebound while working to undermine current and proposed protective status and further access to the sharks (limited protections) for fisheries, academic and aquaria issues. White shark experts, including academic and likewise publish minded lab sponsored researchers have offered low numbers based upon incomplete and unreliable survey data sets and photo identification records etc. In all cases, the academics, the fisheries and zoo and aquaria and sport fishing interests are using science and transmitters and various tech gadgetry to to justify continued extractions and exploitations of white sharks in the Eastern Pacific and Worldwide. The fisheries pressures and habitat disruptions and losses of white ssharks from the Pacific Rim and elsewhere needs addressed and curtailed as soon and as fully as is possible. The white sharks are beset on all sides by the inequity of the selfish and the tyranny of greedy persons; no where are they safe, whether its drifting whale carcass or seasonal patrols of pinniped colonies, the sharks are besieged by boats.. Whats needed is consistent, patient and non invasive, long term monitoring and a more restrained and careful tracking and photo identification methodology and zones for protection, AND proper (non fisheries or aquaria based conservation and environmental studies efforts. This is an excellent addition to a study that was published earlier this same year that verified that white sharks have a life duration of several decades or more... One can guess which experts and interests view points favored the previous theory that the white shark life span was no more than 30 years in duration.. As well same names and experts and user groups worked to undermine local and state sponsored bans of shark fin trade,,, And so it goes, research and finding presented in studies like these pave the way toward true conservation efforts and genuine science. Thanks for reading, and thanks for learning and perusing the study posted below ~ ______________________________________________
